Cage-Free Cat "Sanctuary" in South Florida?
About a month ago I went looking online for animal shelters in south Florida as I found a stray cat. While searching, I found a place that you paid $99 dollars to give the cat up and they let the cat roam free in an outdoor, but contained environment. I thought it stupid, until now I realize this cat cannot stay indoors as it tears up everything, howls at the door and has unsuccessfully tried to break out. I have tried to find this website again, but to no avail. Can anyone please help me out? Like I said, it was a cat "sanctuary" or "haven", where you gave $99 bucks for the cat to live outdoors and roam free. It was located somewhere in South to Central Florida, I think. Also, it is NOT the Cat Caboodle Ranch. Thanks!

Why are some movies released under one name in one country and under another name in another country?
Doesn’t this just make it confusing so how come producers choose to release it under different names?
For example, the show "Echelon Conspiracy" was called "The Conspiracy" in other regions despite the fact that there was no similar previous show that had been shown before.
It also makes sense to them, as an original title ("Grease") may not cover the same feelings ("Brilliantine")

has anyone heard of snoman or chill rob g?
i am thinking i will get 1 yes for snoman. he is on youtube. he released only one full length lp album ever called "the exceptional one" in 1993. i think a few people have heard of chill rob g. he is also great. his album (forget name and year and do not want to check itunes right now) is rated top 100 by about.com.
anyway, i never heard of snoman until today and his album (the tracks i heard so far) is great all over. great production, sampling, scratching, punchlines, flow, meaning, its all there. but i have no words for this. its the same old story. here is a promising rapper who falls off the face of the map. i looked him up on google and discogs and wikipedia and the only stuff to be found is on youtube, the stuff from this one album. almost nothing past 1993 on discogs. i am pretty sure he is dead or has been reabsorbed into the beast (not surprised his first track is about this), but this goes with the nas song where are they now. nobody knows. he was dooooooope (id put more o’s but you get the idea) but now hes buried forever. chill rob g also but at least he was recognized by about.com (about.com has a very respectable, but subjective list of the top 100 hh albums (all the top anything lists are subjective)). he made the original song that all the movies use for "ive got the power" (bruce almighty comes to mind).
also, does anyone here use discogs.net to find info on songs (like who produced them, year released, versions released, etc). started using it recently and it is f’ing great! i always like to know who produces (dj produces, not executive produces) the song and this fills in a lot of blanks. one last thing, this is where i found out about snoman. was looking thru big l’s music list and it turns out he co-produced snomans album, at least allegedly. i will stop here, because i am beginning to sound like an advertisement.

How to capitalize on the stock market during a terrorist attack?
Ok. So I was watching Taking Pelham 1,2,3 and part of the plot during the movie was the criminal staging a terrorist attack to make money on the stock market. Now i researched some and found out that terrorist attacks do drop the market for whatever reason. So how does one know which stock to invest in that’s going to soar (i.e. in the movie it was gold that went up tremendously).

You short sell the market index such as the S&P 500 massively. You will be too late probably though. Most individual investors can not short the indexes on time because the big boys; hedge funds and financial institutions with their billions, would be using most if not all of the shorting shares available from the whole United States. You trade maybe in hundreds or thousands…they trade in billions…so do the math. Also, brokers are bias towards reserving shorting shares to them…nothing you can do about this.
Gold goes up when the markets are down. Scared investors dump their shares in the market and flee to buy gold…that is how it is always been.
You ask which stocks will go down? all stocks mostly…but for you to be certain you would have to short the market indexes.

The Science of Beauty? Help me out with this one folks…?
So I’m trying to read more diverse range of books and I’ve decided to read Survival of the Prettiest soon. I was randomly googling human evolution, found a faq page on pbs, and followed a series of links that lead me to this page "is love in our genes?" and part of it had to do with the controversial topic of evolutionary psychology. The focus here mentioned is obviously that the most attractive physical traits are allegedly universal and inherently attractive instead of culturally defined.
I would like someone to explain this point of view. I have to admit that as someone not part of mainstream culture (I’m African American and pretty "normal" but my mother is very afro centric which influenced me a little bit) it is kind of hard to imagine that there is something universally common between what people in my culture (and some other black cultures) tend to find attractive and what someone from idk a far east asian culture would find attractive. The reason being is that I have met so many different people from different cultures and the preferences influenced by culture can be very different. In fact from my point of view the only reason we even have overlapping standards of beauty is usually because of the meeting of two cultures (though not necessarily by pleasant means if you catch my drift. i dont want to be too controversial with this lol) and fashion trends, etc. a global culture influences these things as well as immediate culture, in my opinion. if all cultures were in isolation from one another and we had no frequent interaction between different groups then i think the developed physical ideologies would be even more different than they already are. there just seems to be way too much evidence to contradict this theory that beauty is universal. I’m bisexual and while I do find a wide range of women attractive there are certain things that I am not attracted at all to that the next person likely from an entirely different cultural background would (and i know many that do) find extremely attractive. i genuinely think who we find attractive is the result of history in our culture (first and foremost really), our cultural background, the cultures we are exposed to, our experiences with people in certain cultures, prejudices in culture, cultural trends and current fashions, etc. and even all of those factors will change within the next couple hundred years or so. i just don’t see anything around me that screams "this has always been and will always be attractive because it is universal and timeless." how can this be explained from a "beauty is universal and not determined by culture" perspective? I’m no expert though don’t get me wrong. lol
I’m going to pick up Survival of the Prettiest soon. Has anyone read it before? Opinions?

I seriously doubt there is much genetic predilection for certain traits in beauty.
If you look at recent history you can see that what constitutes Beauty in the emerging world cultures is changing as they become more exposed to Western media. Especially Hollywood and even Bollywood.
Tastes and morals appear to take far more from what we are exposed to visually. The phrase ‘timeless beauty’ seems to require more definition. Certainly what I regard as pretty may well agree with your taste, but where we differ is not because of our genetic difference [I'm White male]
However, I am attracted to petite women and find larger women far less attractive than the average African American seems to. Perhaps there lies some genetic predisposition, but I suspect it has much more to do with the fact that the smaller women in my formative years happened to be the loveliest. So I gravitated toward those smaller girls as I grew. Not being a very tall guy [5'10] and being extremely shy I found the larger women intimidating back then.
In the end I married a very petite girl who is not of my race, so again the genetics appear to be less of a factor. I’ve not read the book but from what I see prettiness does not get the girls all the best things in life… unless other factors come into play like location, skills, intelligence and opportunity. Just look at how many pretty girls end up ’servicing’ men just to make a living.

I am by no means an economics major, but I observe very well. If you were to take $787,000,000,000 dollars (The total reported amount of Obama’s 2009 "Stimulus" package) and divide that figure by 305,000,000 men, women, children and illegal aliens residing in the U.S. (http://www.usnews.com/articles/opinion/2 008/12/31/us-population-2009-305-million -and-counting) You would have approximately, $2,580 dollars for every single person in the United States. If you were to add the 3,000,000,000 to the amount of the initial stimulus you would have 790,000,000,000 and you added another 10 dollars to the pockets of every single person in America so that instead of the stimulus and the "Cash for clunkers" program, every single person received $2,590 dollars.
-So a husband, wife and two children would receive a total of $10,360 dollars extra for the 2009 fiscal year.
-That would be an extra $863. dollars a month for one year paid to a family of four.
My question is rather or not the "Answers" community would have preferred a check in the amount of $2,590 dollars for themselves and anyone else in their family. Or would you rather of had the Stimulus and "Cash for clunkers?"
I have to admit a little extra coin in the pockets of everyone in America would probably stimulate the economy in some way. Wouldn’t it?

A) some of that stimulus is tax cuts, some people have got $2,590 cash in their pockets.

Of course, I would have preferred that to the stimulus debacle which did nothing to help the economy. With my share I would have paid some bills, which would have helped spur the economy.
Your way puts the solution in the hands of individuals and takes it out of the hands of government. That’s not what the government wants. A better plan would be not to have taken the money from tax payers in the first place, or not to have ‘printed it up’, or borrowed from china.

I recently had surgery and have a Q about the pain medicine?
the doctor has had me on a really strong pain killer for about a month now. I had surgery on my hand and the pain is not quite as bad but its still there. (maybe a 7 out of 10) So my question is, im scared that he will just pull me off the medication and i will be sick and in pain. Or will he ween me off it, or what? Im calling for another script 2morrow. im also on a contract for the medication.

I bought goods from an individual and they went missing in the post. The sender of the goods is trying to shirk any claim making or help in tracing the package. Am I right in thinking that in legal terms the sender, as purchaser of the postage and poster of the parcel, made a contract with Royal Mail ? If so then The Royal Mail has duty of care towards the sender and consequently the sender should claim against Royal Mail ?
I paid with paypal and am going through the buyer protection thing but I just want some nice chunks of law to back up my arguement that the sender should be taking a bit more interest in helping me.
Yes it is up to the sender to chase the parcel up with the Royal Mail as only he will know the details required to make a claim such as the dated and time posted whether it was sent letter or parcel post. The Royal mail you will find most helpful and they will pay compensation to the sender he or she can then send you a refund. Try being especially nice to the sender ask for their help.
